Updated April 2019. Further updates will appear here as the immunisation programme draws closer.
Adult Immunisation programme
For the 2019 immunisation programme we will again be providing different vaccines for adult patients who are under 65 years of age and those who are over 65 (officially, if they are over 65 on 31st March 2020 so some of these people will actually be only 64 years old during the immunisation campaign.)
The requirement to provide different vaccines to these age groups is determined nationally by the Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisations (JCVI) who published their advice for the 2019 programme in October 2018
65 Years and Over
We plan to continue our successful format at the Ainsdale Methodist Church where we work in conjunction with the church, Ainsdale Lunch and Lesiure, Healthwatch Sefton and our Patient Participation group (PPG) to stage a health fair alongside the immunisation clinic.
The provisional dates for this year's flu clinics are
- Wednesday 9th and October 2019.
- Wednesday 16th October 2019.
These dates are subject to change.

Children's Flu Immunisation programme
The surgery will again be immunising children who are aged 2 or 3 years old with the school nurses immunising children in the older eligibility groups.
The surgery also takes responsibility for those children under 16 who are advised to be immunised because of pre-existing health conditions that make them 'at-risk'.
