Over 65 Community Clinics - Invite (this invite will be sent out by SMS where possible or by letter on Monday 23rd September)
Under 65 Community Clinic - Invite (this invite will be sent out by SMS where possible or by letter on Monday 17th September)
For the 2019 immunisation programme we will again be providing different vaccines for adult patients who are under 65 years of age and those who are over 65 (officially, if they are over 65 on 31st March 2020 so some of these people will actually be only 64 years old during the immunisation campaign.)
The requirement to provide different vaccines to these age groups is determined nationally by the Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisations (JCVI) who published their advice for the 2019 programme in October 2018
Please don't call us if you cant attend the community clinic(s) for your agree group.
We will be scheduling further clinics at the surgery and we will announce the dates and times of those immediately after the community clinic. If we have your mobile phone number we will be able to send SMS messages advising you of upcoming clinic times but they will also be advertised on-line and at the surgery.
We are continuing our successful format for the Over 65s community clinic at the Ainsdale Methodist Church where we work in conjunction with the church, Ainsdale Lunch and Lesiure, Healthwatch Sefton and our Patient Participation group (PPG) to stage a health fair alongside the immunisation clinic.
There will be a number of exhibitors and free refreshments. We encourage all our patients to take a some time to visit some of the stands and stop for a drink and a chat.
Children's Flu Immunisation programme
The surgery will again be immunising children who are aged 2 or 3 years old with the school nurses immunising children in the older eligibility groups.
The surgery also takes responsibility for those children under 16 who are advised to be immunised because of pre-existing health conditions that make them 'at-risk'.
The vaccines are not yet available. We anticipate running vaccination clinics for our children towards the end of October and will make dates available both during term time after school and during the half-term holiday for maximum convenience.
