This year the government has extended the eligibility for a free flu vaccination to include all people aged 50-64 years regardless of their medical history.
Vaccines are in high demand this year but we have been able to order enough to hold a single clinic at the Ainsdale Methodist Church Hall on Saturday 12th December.
Invitations are being sent to eligible patients by SMS message or post from December 1st.
The eligible age group includes people who are currently 49 years old but who have their 50th birthday before 1st April 2021.
Patients who are in the 18-64 year old 'at-risk' group who have not yet had their vaccination are also being invited to this session.
We have made every effort to widen the scope of the clinic by holding it on a Saturday but we realise there may be people who cannot attend on that day. We can’t offer surgery appointments for this programme but local pharmacies will also be delivering free vaccines to this age group under the NHS scheme.
- Visit our YouTube channel to watch a short information film about the community flu clinics before you attend your appointment.
- We will be using a vaccine called FluBlok® which is provided by Sanofi Pasteur. You can find out more about it at https://sanofiflu.com/flublok-quadrivalent-influenza-vaccine.html
