Update 12th October 2021.
We have now received our second delivery of flu vaccines which will allow us to substantially complete the vaccination programme for all eligible adult patients who are able to visit our clinics. Please see below for information about the housebound and care home programme.
( For the purposes of flu vaccination this includes people who are 64 today but will turn 65 before April 1st 2022. )
We will be running another walk-in clinic at Ainsdale Road Methodist Church on Saturday 16th October between 9am and 4pm.
No appointment is needed for this clinic.
Please bring your original invite letter with you if you still have it ( but don't worry if you don't have it)
Please also wear a face covering when you attend. Follow the instructions of the practice staff and stewards when you come to the centre as this will help us ensure a safe environment for all our visitors.
The Over 65s clinic will be administering Fluad Tetra QIV vaccine ( product information )
18 - 64 years
This eligible patient group is broken down into two sub-sections
1. Patients aged 18 - 64 years with a condition that places them at higher risk if they were to be ill with the 'flu
( if you will be 65 before April 1st 2022 you fall into the Over 65 category for flu vaccination purposes)
2. All people aged 50 - 64 ( excluding those identified by category 1 above)
( if you will be 50 before April 1st 2022 you fall into the eligible category for a free vaccine regardless of your medical history)
We are running two community clinics for these patient groups.
1. Wednesday 20th October
There will be a walk -in clinic at Ainsdale Road Methodist Church between 11am and 4pm
2. Saturday 23rd October
There will be a clinic at Ainsdale Medical Centre Surgery on Station Road between 9am and 1pm. Due to the physical constraints of the surgery building this will be by appointment only.
Appointments can be booked on-line using any of the available smartphone apps or by calling the surgery on 01704 575133. Please use the on-line apps if you can to help keep the phone lines free for other patients.
The Under-65s clinic will be administering Flucelvax Tetra vaccine ( product information )
If you have an underlying medical condition which places you at greater risk if you catch flu we will be sending you a personal invite letter via Royal mail which will arrive in the next few days. Please bring this letter with you when you come to the clinic. We will also send you an SMS message if we have your mobile phone details.
We have made every effort to widen the scope of the clinics by holding them on a 'normal' working day and on a Saturday but we realise there may be people who cannot attend on these days.
We can’t offer surgery appointments for this programme as the demand for nurse appointments for regular medical care is so high but local pharmacies will also be delivering free vaccines to this group under the NHS scheme subject to availability of vaccine.
