Clinicians at Ainsdale Medical Centre may request that you provide samples to help with diagnosis or management of health conditions.
Please make sure that all samples that are to be brought to the surgery are received before 12:00 noon with your full name and full date of birth clearly on the label attached to the container. Without this information we are unable to accept your sample. Containers can be obtained from the reception desk. Any specimens not in sterile containers will not be sent for analysis as they can become contaminated. Please see the images to make sure you have the correct container.

Blood Tests
You can now have blood tests taken at community clinics, and the results will be sent to the clinician who has requested them. Please make sure you take your form with you.

Children's Blood Tests
Southport Centre for Health and Wellbeing now hold drop in clinics for children up to age 16. The clinics are held every Thursday between 9am and 11:45am on the 2nd floor of the clinic.
Results
Please call the surgery to obtain your results. The following time frames apply:
Blood, urine, stool, sputum and swabs take 5 working days.
Nail clippings take up to 4 weeks.
X-Ray and scan results take 2 weeks.
